Meet Leia Nymo
Leia Nymo is the founder, lead guide, and instructor behind She’s Super Fly.
She came to guiding from the teaching side. A lifelong angler and boater, Leia studied Adventure Education at Plymouth State University, where the coursework was less about résumé lines and more about the actual craft of taking people outside: experiential teaching, group facilitation, risk management, environmental interpretation, and outdoor lesson design. Field training covered hiking and backpacking, canoeing, climbing and ropes, wilderness first aid, and expedition planning.
That background shows up in how a day on the water runs. Leia has led women-only groups of college students to summits in New Hampshire’s White Mountains, managing route selection, pacing, group safety, and risk-aware decision-making – and she’s spent seasons as an outdoor education instructor at Green River Preserve in North Carolina, mentoring cabin groups, leading overnight trips, and working as an assistant fly-fishing instructor to students across every age and skill level.
Her teaching philosophy is straightforward:
“The outdoors can empower people to discover strengths they did not know they possessed. My goal is to create welcoming learning environments where people feel supported as they build technical skills, confidence, leadership, and lifelong connections to nature.”
She’s especially interested in helping women, girls, and brand-new anglers get to the point of independence – where you can rig your own rod, pick your own water, and go without anyone’s help.
